1XTRA LIVE @ FIRST DIRECT ARENA, LEEDS

Leeds’ First Direct Arena was set alight this weekend (Saturday 17th October) as 1Xtra Live brought fire to the Northern English city.

With dynamic performances from UK heavyweights Tinie Tempah, Stormzy, Krept & Konan, Fekky and Lethal Bizzle, complimented by US showstoppers Miguel, Flo Rida, Kid Ink and Natalie La Rose, this event was not one to be missed.

The action packed show kicked off with an energetic set from Miguel — wearing a spectacular white feathered jacket — who took to the stage to serenade the audience with tracks fresh off the European leg of his Wildheart tour, setting the bar for the rest of the evenings acts.

F0llowing through, newcomers WSTRN and Dutch singer Natalie La Rose — Flo Rida’s protégé — then proved that they have what it takes to compete with the big boys via their fiery and vibrant performances.

Fresh in Natalie’s footsteps, a hyped up Flo Rida took to the stage and decided to go into the crowd during his performance, ending up on someone’s shoulders while singing ‘Welcome to My House.”

Fekky then energetically Bu Bu Banged his way across the auditorium before Lethal Bizzle put in work with a toe tapping performance of ‘Rari Workout’ and new single ‘Dude’ featuring Stormzy.

Next up was man of the moment Stormzy who showed off why he is the man of the moment with an electrifying performance including his iconic freestyle ‘Shut Up’ that the crowd sang along with bar for bar.

Sticking to their roots, ‘Young Kings’ Krept and Konan then brought on Yungen and Sneakbo to perform their hit single ‘Aint On Nuttin’ whilst rapping a medley of their hits including crowd favourites ‘Dont Waste My Time’ and ‘Freak Of The Week’.

Switching up the vibe, tattooed LA rapper Kid Ink delighted fans by performing strong renditions of ‘Body Language’ and ‘Be Real’ proving that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop world.

Finishing off the show, Tinie Tempah surprised the crowd by firstly announcing he’s made a new track with Stormzy (which takes aim at none other than Chip, no less) AND bringing on Katy B to sing their current smash single ‘Turn The Music Louder’, providing an epic end to an amazing night for the city of Leeds.

Backstage, as we were at 1Xtra Live, it was only right we probed the artists on when the last time someone was EXTRA with them. Here are the results…

For Lethal Bizzle, it was a flashback to earlier this summer in Ibiza. The grime legend revealed that a supporter approached him asking about brands of fast food chicken shops in the middle of a nightclub. However, that was a simple decision for Lethal, with him ultimately declaring that, “Nando’s is the only chicken for Bizzle.”

MistaJam, however, described unnecessary comments on social media as being extra for him. He said when people tweet him abuse it can all be a bit too much and he’s NOT afraid to hit the block button. You’ve been warned!

Fekky admitted, “Fans can be extra towards me but they can’t help it,” then confessed that he’s “actually an extra kind of guy himself” in everything he does; “clothes, chains, you name it.”

Finally, Krept said people are extra to him when it comes to fashion choices but Konan said people can be extra with him when it comes to time-keeping although, he’s “NEVER” late.

Hmmmm…really? We don’t believe you Konan!
