Win the chance to open for Skepta and Little Simz in Dubai

UK MCs are currently making serious movements all across the world, with Skepta and Little Simz at the forefront.

A collaboration between Brapp, the music social network, and SBTV will give a rising artist the opportunity to open for those two, as well as Dam Funk and Diamond D, at the Sole DXB festival in Dubai on November 18 and 19.

Record yourself freestyling, rapping or singing on the Brapp app over any of their beats, with productions from the HeavyTrackerz, Westy, Rude Kid and loads more available, get your friends and family to support, and hope that you’ve done enough to impress the judging panel.

The winner, alongside opening for the aforementioned acts at Sole DXB, will also get to shoot a video for the Brapp YouTube channel in Dubai and freestyle live on All City Radio hosted by Kish Kash and DJ Greenpeace.

It’s a wicked opportunity to get your name out there and show what you’re capable of on a huge stage, with Brapp co-founder and Foreign Beggars artist Pavan Mukhi saying: “Dubai is an international hotspot for creative talent right now and having the opportunity to perform there, opening for massive artists such as Skepta, Little Simz and the legendary Diamond D at Sole DXB, is a huge opportunity for any emerging artist! We can’t wait to listen to your entries. Best of luck all who enter.”

Jamal Edwards, for his part, wishes you all the best: “This is a unique opportunity to perform in Dubai and open for some of the greatest artists in the scene, so make sure you get involved. Submit your entries via the Brapp platform and good luck!”

The only caveat is your Brapp upload needs at least 500 plays to make it in front of the judging panel, which will include Pavan, Jamal and Sole DXB. The competition runs from October 13 to October 20, with three finalists being chosen for the final knockout round on October 21 and the overall winner announced on October 24.

You must be at least 16 at the time of travel and have a valid passport with at least six months left on it.

Good luck!
