Illustrators: Here’s how you can get your work into an upcoming grime exhibition

Grime has rapidly transformed from something unloved by the mainstream and blamed by the press and politicians for a lot of society’s woes, to one of the UK’s most recognisable cultural exports.

It’s only right we celebrate the people that helped that happen as much as possible, from the pioneering MCs and producers to the likes of Stormzy today who have taken the genre to previously unimaginable heights.

Artist Ben Gore, who you might remember from these epic grime Pokemon cards, is hoping his I LUV U illustrated grime exhibition and club night can do that – and has put out a call for artist submissions to be featured in the Shoreditch show.

The deadline for submissions is April 4, with the exhibition itself taking place on April 22 at Stour Space.

The Blue Monday Press and Cabin collaboration wants to feature as wide an array of MCs as possible, so is asking that artists get in touch with some samples of their work and a mention of who they’d like to illustrate.

Special guests for the night are to be confirmed, but it’s bound to be a great celebration.
