Georgia’s Musings

Greetings pals! Wowoweewa what a fortnight it’s been…

So it all started with a last minute highland dash to extract red carpet gossip from the famous and fabulous at the Mobos in Glasgow. Very almost going as a ‘mobo hobo,’ I was talked out of that and resorted to the customary gladrags instead, failing to pursuade the boys to don a kilt or indeed go commando at all. Boo’s all round!

The good news is I got my natter on with a host of talented beans arriving including Dappy, Labrinth, Mr Hudson, Emeli Sande, Pro Green, Rizzle Kicks, Dionne Bromfield, Clement Marfo, Wretch 32 and JLS. My best dressed gong of the night went to Yasmin who donned a fetching zebra number, nice work…

…And Fazer for making bringing a swagger I didn’t know existed to the polo neck massive (hold tight the matching socks too).

At the 11th hour on the following weekend I just about managed to locate my serious hat in time to don it and make history at SBTV’s first ever DB8 event. In association with Channel 4’s Battlefront we bought Mic Righteous, Scrufizzer, Rizzle Kicks, G Frsh, Lady Leshurr and Maxsta into the Houses of Parliament to do their thang on exclusive beats from Labrinth, Lewi White and Jake Warren. They were joined by a bunch of our viewers debating issues important to them while Ras Kwame spun the tunes and panelists Chantelle Fiddy, David Cameron’s youth advisor Sean Bailey and Damilola Taylor trusts’ Gary Trowsdale amongst others kindly allowed us to pick their brains.

Here I am attempting to keep them all in check

A day rest ensued before hot footing our bad selves to the Albert Hall for the Spirit of London Awards, a one off ceremony that celebrates the hard work young people do in media, business, the arts and their community. Wanting to do things properly, we casually parked our very own SBTV mini on the red carpet to conduct interviews in with the likes of Stacey Soloman Eddie Kadi, Bluey Robinson, Ashley Walters, Jermain Defoe and Beverly Knight.

Liam had a really good night

Later gaining unprecedented access backstage we caught Tinchy Stryder, Diversity and DJ Fresh who led a whole orchestra on stage for a beautiful one-off rendition of Louder, as well as Jamal’s arm candy for the night a chick you might have heard of, Keri Hilson who he presented an award with and apparently even held hands! I hear he’s never washing again…

Interview wise, the man who loves singing his own name more than anything else in the world Jason Derulo was in town for a chin wag. Wierdly we spent most of the time talking about his manly bits, which apparently are best when kept at 28 degrees. Pardon?

Three of The Saturdays let me know how they keep looking hot in the cool weather. I can’t find picture proof of this so you’ll just have to trust me… let’s look at this drag queen miming to one of their hits instead shall we?!

And I limbered up for the 2011 B Boy championships at Brixton Academy where I was blown away by the moves and had some good old fashioned lol’s with UK crew Maverick Souls among others (including the legend Crazy Legs) backstage.

Tunes exciting me this time round is the lastest offering from Octobers very own Drizzy alongside Nicki Minaj for Make Me Proud. Feel like you can tell from the moody beats he’s been listening to The Weeknd

The Roots leaked the first tune from their soon to be released 13th album Make My (ft. Big K.R.I.T) which unsurprisingly is sick, super listenable loveliness.

And I mentioned it last week but since have been blown away by the video accompaniment to Labrinth’s Earthquake

Garment wise I’m feeling practical backpack numbers that allow me to carry even more random stuff than usual like Henry Hollands padlock offering. And kinda lusting at the Olsen twins own designed alligator number (only $39,000…lend us a fiver?).

Until next time playas x
